James's World of Opportunity

My dear friends and family, I'm writing to ask you to support the work I'm involved in with Engineers Without Borders. To be honest, asking for money is an uncomfortable thing to do. But I feel compelled to ask for your partnership and your help as we move forward with our work in addressing the root causes of poverty. In communities where we work across Zambia, Malawi, Ghana and Burkina Faso, there are millions of hardworking and innovative people seeking the chance to improve their lives. Yet, all too often they are stuck - unable to move forward because they lack the same opportunities that you and I have here in Canada. We can all be a part of righting this wrong. As many of you will know, I started working for EWB a few months ago, focusing on influencing the Canadian government's contributions to international development. Now more than ever, our government needs to reestablish itself as a global leader and drastically improve the effectiveness of our foreign aid. My job is to work with our members across Canada in holding our political leaders accountable for their approach to international development. I know that you are all generous people and already give to causes close to your heart. I'm asking that you consider supporting EWB by giving whatever amount you can afford. Whether it's $5 or $100, every little bit counts. My sincere thanks for your support! James
